Homeless people were deliberately set on fire in sickening arson attacks, according to Scotland Yard.
Met Police are investigating incidents this week where one or more people set light to people sleeping rough.
Two such fires were reported in Croydon in south London in the early hours of Monday, according to a statement issued by the force.
They added: “Two men were treated by the London Ambulance Service for minor burns.
“Sleeping bags or other property was set alight.”
A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were arrested at roughly 5am on Wednesday.
The man was charged and the girl has since been released on bail.
Met Police have not disclosed at this stage what the man has been charged with.
